Our Mission

We are on a mission to co-create STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) experiences that spark excitement and curiosity in learners of all ages. We believe that science is a way of knowing and that communities have their own approach to practicing science that is not just centered at research institutions. The festival aims to be a bridge that facilitates people coming together in the spirit of community developed knowledge and sustainable relationships.

Our Vision

We envision connecting Kansas communities by sharing ways of knowing and practicing STEAM. The pillars of our vision hold up:

1. Sustainable and deep relationships that provide consistent access.

2. More accurate representation of who has and continues to contribute to the development of scientific knowledge.

3. Science learning can be fun and doesn't only happen in the classroom.

4. Constant communication with the many communities that make up Kansas

We believe that communities must inform all decisions and that we must be open and honest about our intentions at every stage of this effort.

We believe in collaboration that doesn't burden any one individual or organization and that doesn't take power away from our communities.

Progress, not perfection

We don't know everything, and we won't always get things right the first time. We are willing to fail and stumble forward while also acknowledging and repairing any missteps in our journey.
