Presenter Registration Information:
We invite you to fill out the Google Form to participate in Kansas Science Festival at Downtown Hays on May 4th, 2025. Booths will be spread along Main Street from STEM Harvest to the Hays Public Library. There will be some availability for indoor booths at both locations along with outdoor booths along Main Street and at the Outdoor Pavilion. Activities for the public will be available from 11:00-4:00 p.m, with set-up beginning at 10:00 a.m. and tear-down ending at 5:00 p.m. The Kansas Science Festival will provide each booth with a table and two chairs; if you need additional tables/chairs it is your is your responsibility to provide them. Please note additional infrastructure needs (electricity, internet, etc) in Google Form. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers who are signed up through the Google Form.
Your booth should be a hands-on, family-friendly STEAM activity. Your booth should NOT be a presentation of academic papers or a lecture. The goal of Kansas Science Festival is to co-create STEAM Experiences that spark curiosity and excitement in learners of all ages. Some examples of activities include:
- Mini-labs for a target age group to participate in
- Science games and activities (e.g., board games connected to survival of an animal, making observations with a microscope, hands-on exploration of field equipment, simple aerobic exercises connected to a health concept, a math problem groups can work on together, an engineering challenge)
- Art representations of science concepts (e.g., side-walk chalk)
